My friend owns a brand new mac book pro and he says it heats up like crazy.

huh. So it's 1/5 less likely to crash?

That doesn't matter much to me, seeing as Portal has NEVER CRASHED FOR ME.

I don't get it.

It says it's 1/5th more likely to crash than windows and yet everyone is saying its better?

"Portal (with the same code base across platforms) is one fifth as likely to crash on a Mac than on Windows."

One fifth as likely to crash = %20 higher chance of crashing = worse?
What?  1/5 as likely means that it's 20% as likely, not more likely.  20% more likely would be 120% as likely.

I've played Portal on a Windows and MacOS machine, and it runs better or Windows. I haven't noticed anything speed-wise, but Mac has enlarged/low res particles that look really weird. We also have 0 AA.

Only source game ever crashed for me is GMOD, and even then it's add-ons fault.

Lol PC is actually better at everything

my uncle has a mac with the mac versions of the programs I use and they suck

What?  1/5 as likely means that it's 20% as likely, not more likely.  20% more likely would be 120% as likely.
Not necessarily. A 1/5 increase would be 120%, as you said.

I guess that means that Portal has -20% of crashing on Windows

Haha all the little Windowcigarettes are crying.

Windowcigarettes being the ones who say "No, my computer is so much better AND yours is a piece of stuff!"

I'm the one saying "Windows is much better and Mac is good enough."

I'm the one saying "Windows is much better and Mac is good enough."
And thus not really a Windowcigarette.

And thus a decent person.

+1 rep

And thus not a Windowcigarette.
