Author Topic: Fallout 3: Vault 106  (Read 11581 times)

I just went into this Vault and it really creeped me out, and the practically pitched black vault made it even worse. Basically in Vault 106 the Overseer put this psychological drug into the air vents and the inhabitants went crazyand killed everyone who was unaffected. The insane vault dwellers are still in the vault and attack you if you go in. The drug is still flowing too, and you get affected by it. If you continue walking down into the Vault your screen starts getting blue and you start hallucinating. In one of the hallucinations you go up to one of the Vault computers and theres a document titled "Message to self". It says to breath in the deep blue and it keeps updating with messages. The hallucinations end and as you continue further you start seeing hallucinations of your Vault 101 companions such as Butch and others. As you go down further someone named "Survivor" tries to kill you and in the middle of battle you get hallucinations of Butch and his friends trying to kill you. When you kill the Survivor everything stops and there's skeletons everywhere. If you have this game do this quest, now.

tl;dr: Vault 106 is creepy as forget, go do this side quest now.

Discuss this and other vaults.

I quite frankly haven't been in any of the other vaults. Decided they weren't a good use of time. Mostly I scavenge around and try to get enough money to buy more stuff for my place in Tenpenny Tower. It's almost amounted to over 3000 caps for just 1 kit and 1 theme. :P

Anyways, what gun should I use to go in the vaults? Heavier or smaller? Or should I use melee?

You're a pansy if you're scared by that :v

Tranquility Lane kind of creeped me out, but then the chinese came and killed everyone and I lol'ed.

Metal Blaster or A3-21's Plasma Rifle.

Umm... I kinda only have conventional weapons. No energy weapons. :/

Oh my god, I hear you. I absolutely loving hate every single failed vault they are rusty, deserted, have creepy music, and they are dark! and there are usually enemies that come and sneak up behind you.

Ow! What the hell?!? I am going to shoot you now, and when my health gets really low, I'll yell "forgeter, this is hopeless" and run away.

It's ok...

they are rusty
Because they are
deserted
Because they
failed

have creepy music
I don't think the Marine Corps Hymn is all that creepy.
and they are dark
Hold tab.

*holsters fists*

Really. Everytime I find out I have to enter a failed vault for some god forsaken reason, I breathe an enormous deep sigh because I can't loving stand being in them.

Vault 87 especially. I hated that stuff.

Edit: And Oasis, get a flamer. It's probably the best weapon for a failed vault because:

1. Fire = light!

2. The fire is comforting

3. It's close range

4. It morbidly burns whatever you use it on

Not scared, creeped out.

Yeah, like some of the insane vault dwellers would just pop out of a dark corner and make me jump.

Not scared, creeped out.
I usually get a fast heart rate when walking in the wastes at night. Can I count that as creeped out?
