If it's 1080i explain why I see pixelation on a 720p monitor
Because youtube is lies
It's not actually 720p, it's nowhere NEAR 720p, they're just bullstuffting
If it was 720p, then youtube would have to process seven hundred and twenty pixels in parallel order (mm, not happening)
so basically it's just enhanced footage, but it does make it look better
The camera is actually 1080i recording at 24 frames per second. If I hook it up to my dad's 1080i HDTV, I can see almost-crystal-clear quality (1080p is far better). It goes into Sony Vegas at 1080i 24p and stays that way. It exports from Vegas in FLT format, the exact same resolution and FPS. But when it goes through youtube it always looks like stuff.
