The Lost Art of Dying
My angry letter to The Times

Over the last year there has been a rise in players from the European Union's Health and Safety committee. These little miscreants are hell-bent on forcing their draconian health and safety legislation on the good people of Blockland.
It all rather innocently started when someone committed the noble and pure act of a Spawnkill. The victims of this attack was rather distraught and campaigned for the attacker to be banned. The victim had begun to forget the point of playing a game, the point in every game, challenge. The challenge presented to the victim was to survive the attack and manage to fight of the attackers. Any normal traditional player would have picked up on this immediately.
However these days the spoonfed minions of the EU's Health and Safety committee need everything handed to them. If they can't kill the enemy they file the bureaucratic procedures to have that person expelled from the server.

These people have forgotten the art of dying. In the past if one was killed there would naturally be a slight annoyance but overall an acceptance of the fact that a fellow player had managed to kill you and there would be no complaint. You'd just get on with the game and continue trying to complete your goal. That is how you die in any game, you die with acceptance and understanding that you are in a game. In these bleak days however if you kill little Johnny of ID 12k and up. Instead of hearing  a noble death from a fellow player you can hear their lawyer beginning legal procedures against you. Little Johnny and his lawyer have a huge list of 'illegal' kills to pin on you. The list grows longer each month

*Spawnkill – When a weak player can't defend themselves and so feel the need to complain

*Ghostkill – When a player cries over the fact they are loading the game and want you to feel their plight in the form of a ban

*Freekill – This kill is banded about in RP's it is when a victim wants all challenge removed from the game

*Buildkill – This one is used when a player is in a Trench war game. The player seems to think that the enemy should not kill them because they are building defences that will used against said enemy. It is also used by lazy gamers who forget they joined a TDM and can't be bothered to defend themselves. They seem to think that the respect they ask for is carried out in real wars.

*Spawncamp – When an opposing enemy is superior and manages to conquer the enemies base the victims of the attack will complain saying that it's unfair, forgetting the fact that the general idea of war is to create a winner

*Teamkill – This is a complaint used by unpopular people who don't realise they are unpopular. The person who teamkills has done the noble thing.

*Lagkill – This is used when a player is killed whilst they lag. They try to take the blame off their crap computer and put it on you

*Chatkill - This complaint is used by the most illogical of the Health and Safety players“Hi guys! I feel like standing in the middle of the battlefield without protection to have a chat”

There is probably more 'illegal' kills that the kids use to complain about but this is a list of the main ones. Everyone one of the 'illegal' kills stated above shows the fact that the people who use these excuses want to remove the challenge from the game they are playing. In their eyes every game should be completely fair, there should be little to no challenge and it should be extremely easy so people as futile as they are can win the games.

What I want to know is where this came from? Every game has a challenge, the harder the challenge the more fun the game can get. Why do these Health and Safety players want to remove the challenge from the games they play? It's entirely illogical. You can rest assure that any Minigame will have little to no rules and unfairly balanced teams.

If you got through my loosely structured complaint I'd like to hear your input.

You forgot AFKkill.
It happens most commonly right after they are killed, and will respawn again.

Until I read this topic (and a brilliant topic that it is, I might add) I hadn't realised how much of an issue this has become.
You've opened my eyes.

I salute you sir.

I've realized it as far as all but team kill. But then I realized how important team killing is in some situations.

You forgot "his weapon is better than mine!!!!" and "AIMBOT!!1!1!!"

I disagree with some of your points and your comment about IDs, but I do agree with the stupidity of some. Freekilling and Teamkilling are something you really shouldn't be doing except in certain circumstances which are very slim, in which case it's certainly annoying.

Yeah I agree with the teamkill thing, my anger made me throw that in but if you're a strong team it won't be a problem.

And yeah what I said about ID's isn't strictly true, I've just noticed it with newer people more than older people.

Thanks for the response guys.

When someone thing that something is unfair or not balanced, then they go cry for mommy. This is a fact that has existed in generations, even before humans wandered on earth.
To split it up a little, think a group with lions. These animals fight each other to see who is the strongest. They have no rules, and the one that runs away is the loser. The only different here, comparing to humans, is that the loser does not get any sympathy from other group members.
Nowadays those who was losers before is now leaders for whole countries or smaller states. Therefor they get the power to make laws of stuff they thought was unfair or unbalanced. As in war, if you use biological weapons, you will break a law. And due that some countries have signed on those laws, they have to act towards the rule breakers.
Games before were challenging, and when competing against other people came on the tape some people saw other do stuff that they couldn't do, and therefor they created laws against it so they don't have to learn the trick themselves. It is a challenge when something is balanced, but even a greater challenge to play against somebody that is better than you, even if he plays against the rules.

To sum up, humans are all in all individuals striving to have the best so others will give response to them, without putting so much effort in it. As long as it exist something called "mine" and "yours", people will always think something is unfair.

Thumbs up to you that understand where my point is going...

Surprisingly, well put.

You summed up Lagkill, Spawn Camping and chatkill perfectly :D

Amazingly smart. :3 Hopefully lots of morons will finally change their ways, so they won't get so pissed off about things like this.

Why do these Health and Safety players want to remove the challenge from the games they play? It's entirely illogical.

Democrats.

loving HAX I WAS TYPING OMG AND BUILDING AND I WAS IN THE SPAWN PLACE BUT I WAS LOADING AND LAGGING SO I COULDN'T DODGE YOU AND YOU WERE SPAWNCAMPING GOD DAMMIT BAN HIM!1!1

*Teamkill – This is a complaint used by unpopular people who don't realise they are unpopular. The person who teamkills has done the noble thing.
There's something called teamwork and this isn't how it's done
