It's easily possible, it will just require a hell of a lot of datablocks unless you do something unconventional. But then even other methods have their limits.

unconventional?

This can be done, so stop dissing torque bout limits
i support this idea

Do it.
fgt

cul idea by spock:

You could make each part its own image, and then mount that to the same hand as the gun in a fashion that would make it appear to be attached to the gun. Saves a lot of datablocks

I can draw a sketch if somebody can't understand this concept

cool idea btw

I instantly thought of this:

That's from Crysis, for those who don't know. :P

Yea, And pre-release demo? Lol?

If you make this then you will have just won the game

Have you actually made any progress.

This isn't a question because I know you haven't.
There's basically only one feasible way of doing this.
"scopes, barrels, stocks and silencers"
Imagine you have 3 of these, available in any combination.
3x3x3x3 is 81 combinations.

81*4 (roughly) datablocks per combination is 324.

So you will have to create 81 models and script around 324 datablocks if you want to pull this off. Have fun.

Tom

rky speaks the truth.

81 models
Not if he uses joints to mount models onto the gun

I don't think you can do that to weapon images.

To which I would respond:
I don't think am almost positive you can't do that to weapon images.

Yea, There's progress. I've almost finished the Mp5 base and will post a picture soon. (2 days)
And 324 Datablocks? I don't think so. Every base has it's own datablock. Then the "expansions" have a datablock. You just mount the gun to the hand, And the expansion too with an offset.

Tom

You will still need extra data blocks for the different recoils and sound effects. I think you'll need a few more for scoping too.

Will you guys loving lay off him? If he can do it, good for him. If he can't, we can say that we told him so. Until he proves something then we have no authority to doubt.
