Battle After-Action Report
Battle: Skirmish, Quadrant F91
Reporting Officer: Vice Admiral Comradius Kircheis, Commanding officer of 3rd Survey Flotilla
Participating Alliance craft: 2x Argos Corvette class, 1x Danube Cruiser class, 3x Tchaikovsky frigate class, 1x Lohengramm research class, 1x Recombinant Justice command cruiser
As soon as we jumped into the system, I knew something was wrong. Our communications arrays were jammed, and our particle accelerators would not spin up. I ordered a scan of the surrounding area, hoping to find something of use. The first major development was a subspace rift opening up directly ahead of our command ship. Suddenly, two missiles appeared from the rift, and struck the Danube directly in the bridge. This put her into a list to her port side, causing her to collide with one of our Tchaikovskys. I ordered the fleet to raise our shields and to prepare a kinetic weapons barrage to return fire to our unknown foe. However, as soon as all our ships were in position, the rift closed. Seconds later, a new rift opened up between the Argos and the Merriwether. Four missiles this time streaked out of the rift, caused the shields of the Argos to overload, and destroyed her. At this point, I was done wasting lives and materiel to continue this pointless battle. I ordered all ships to engage jump drive to Arcturus shipyards. Unfortunately, three (Lohengramm, Tchaikovsky, Argos classes, respectively) were destroyed. Upon examination of the sensor data captured by the Lohengramm, it would appear that our fleet was attacked from subspace. I recommend developing this technology to help us in further engagements. I would also like a detachment of any such vessel developed to exact vengeance on the murderers of our comrades.
My loyalty is yours,
Comradius Kircheis
