Basically, there was a scheduled warmup test of the Hakurei's drive systems during construction to make sure everything was in working order. However, there was a bit of a hiccup due to the new type of experimental warp drive system. The new warp system was meant to cover an entire fleet, ie granting the ability for any ship in the vicinity without a warp drive to enter hyperspace with the Hakurei (useful feature for a fleet command vessel to have). Miscalculations were made and it turns out the warp drives were actually activated by mistake, attempting to pull the entire orbital shipyard with it. This caused an overload and the warp systems went haywire, throwing the Hakurei off to some unknown coordinates in space and ripping the orbital shipyard apart.

Taking this and re-scaling it by 1.6,
Each pixel of the newly formed image = 1 brick
That's approximately 902 bricks, or 14.09 64x64 Square blocks high.

Doable. Tedious, but doable.
