I don't get why it takes an engine change for just rotating bricks and building sideways like that. I'm no scripter, but there's no way for it to simply check if the two sides can attach, and just make the new brick float next to the first brick with a turned model (Maybe even a new model, that's just turned to the side or upside down, etc.)?

Probably because badspot has the function built into the game, and we cannot see that code to that function, so he would have to be the one that does it.

Why don't we help him make it? Unless he wants to make it himself.

We can't help him make it, probably because:
1. He knows how if it is possible
2. He knows it isn't possible, assuming it's not
3. He doesn't want to release the source code for something he worked hard on

Stop being so loving stupid. There are limits to what you can do with blockland. You have no idea what you are even talking about so just stop.

Yea, everything is not possible, it may be, but then maybe it won't due to engine limitations.

Its not wether or not it is possible, its more about the amount of money/time that would have to be put into it

Wow a lot of you in this thread were shooting down katz. These features would greatly benefit blockland, so no one should be asking why we wouldn't want them. As for them requiring engine changes, it probably won't happen in the next few months or even this year, but you shouldn't act like it'll never happen.

I've always wanted to recreate that one scene in the Labyrinth, so this would be nice indeed. However, realisim would dictate that unless the brick is firmly locked onto the grid, it will slide and thus, create engine problems. So I don't see this happening very soon or at all.

To the extent of my knowledge, in order to reduce lag, blockland uses a brick grid. Instead of creating a bunch of models for each brick (LAG!), it somehow uses it's magical powers to... erm... do something else.

The brick grid does not accept bricks that are sideways, for example, as bricks must conform to the grid.

The same goes for moving bricks (player-built vehicles). The brick grid was not meant to support movement of bricks.

Of course, I could be entirely wrong about all of this  :cookieMonster:

People who swear are less trusted. Also the rest of the stuff you said was very offensive. I feel bad for these kinds of people. I wish for you to not post another rude comment, please, for the peoples' sake.

That is not true...

How was calling you wrong offensive? You seriously have to stop being generally stupid. I am pointing out a fact that you refuse to grasp, then call you stupid for not listening to a word anyone is saying. Only badspot can do this, no one else can, not everything is possible.
