ALRIGHT! I think I get it now. The basic points are:
-When you make a topic you seek attention, whether for it or yourself. That is, you either want the attention drawn to you or to the topic at hand.
-Just because someone shares something personal, negative or not, does not always make them an "attention whore". An attention whore is one who craves attention in either manner (i.e. negative or positive), to the best of my knowledge. Nym is subtly suggesting that some people merely want a ventilation period or want help, both of which would be seeking positive attention for that given situation. Attention whoring implies they crave attention in anyway at any given time.
-Saying "attention whore" is unnecessary and pointless in many cases.
That's how I see Nym explaining it. I'm just trying to clear it up before anything else. :s
