Author Topic: Is it possible to get a graphics card on an integrated computer?  (Read 619 times)

My currect graphics card sucks, but the rest of the computer is really really good. Oh, and it's integrated. forgetforgetforgetasdf.

Yes. Find out how if you have any open expansions slots, figure out what type they are, then buy a card that fits it. Common ones are PCI, PCIe and AGP.

Here is a picture of some PCIe slots. Here is a picture of a PCI slot. Here is a picture of an AGP slot (maroon one at top, bottom two are PCI).

The easiest way to figure this out is open your case and look at your motherboard. Feel free to take a picture of it and post it on the forums if you're unsure. There's also some utilities that will list your expansion slots. Try System Information on Windows.

Where?

Turn off the computer, unplug it, open up the case and just take a picture with a digital camera or try to identify them yourself using the pictures I gave you. I don't really know how to do it in Windows, if it's not in System Information (I don't think it is) maybe someone else can help you.

You're going to have to open the case to install the graphics card, might as well get used to opening it now.
