Author Topic: Hey, look, I divided by zero!  (Read 4748 times)

Here goes...
Assume that a=b
Therefore, a+a=a+b
Which can be simplified to 2a=a+b
Subtract 2b from both sides, like this: 2a-2b=a+b-2b
Redistribute the left and subtract the right and yield 2(a-b)=a-b
Divide by (a-b), which is zero in this equation, and the result is...

2=1

What now, an earthquake?

you pulled 2b outta your ass

@Kaptain
That wasn't even a rational statement.

Divide by (a-b), which is zero in this equation
That is where your equation fails.

i KIND of understood that but kind of nodded off

The fact that you understood something not even correct is beyond me.

you pulled 2b outta your ass
Which is acceptable bro.

Explain yourself.

That is where your equation fails.
Technically, yes.

1/0 is impossible bro

HOW MANY TIMES DOES NOTHING GO IN 1?

you pulled 2b outta your ass
This.  Can't make things come out of no where.

No black hole in the middle of the earth this time.

2, apparently.

This.  Can't make things come out of no where.

No black hole in the middle of the earth this time.
I added it to both sides, so it's still an equivalent statement. What's the issue there?

Which is acceptable bro.
to make this work you have to pull something out of nowhere

that's inacceptable bro.

Dividing by zero is black hole logic

Dividing by zero is black hole logic
Everytime you divide by zero a black hole is formed.
