Author Topic: Hey, look, I divided by zero!  (Read 4755 times)

I know this has been pointed out, but...
Which can be simplified to 2a=a+b
Subtract 2b from both sides, like this: 2a-2b=a+b-2b
:o

Wat?

Therefore, a+a=a+b
Which can be simplified to 2a=a+b

I'm no math whiz but I don't think a+a = 2a unless a = 0 or 2

Let a = 3

3+3 = 3x3
6 ≠ 9

^ Where did you get that from? That is, by no way, any general mathematics with real numbers. And now you pulled out that 3+3 = 3x3? Your brown townysis is made of fail.

As for a useful statement: You don't need to divide by zero to do necessary math, do you?

forget math with a cattle prod

2a, not a^2.

2a is a+a, or in other words, 2 x a.

Quote from: The Geeks' Guide to World Domination
a=b
a2 = ab
a2 - b2 = ab - b2
(a - b)(a + b) = b(a - b)
a + b = b
b + b = b
2b = b
2 = 1
Quote from: The Geeks' Guide to World Domination
To get from the proof's fourth
line to its fifth requires
dividing by (a - b). If a = b,
then a - b = 0, and dividing
by zero is verboten.

2a, not a^2.

2a is a+a, or in other words, 2 x a.
Using 2, though 2x2=2^2=2+2

But it's only our first date

hahah go back to grade 8

With all this Imaginary Number bullstuff, Anything works :C
imaginary numbers dont work with division by 0, thats just silly.

25 divided by 5 equals 14 guys.

hahah go back to grade 8

Pst, hey buddy, c'mere, let me tell you something.

No.
