Author Topic: Do you like SPORE?  (Read 3630 times)

Creature wasn't too short, it was too full of boring stuff like eating and playing with other animals.

It was absolute stuff. I only got to the creature stage and then I ragequitted because it wasn't damn near as magical and revolutionary as it was hyped to be. My favorite part about the game though and probably the only reason why I would reinstall it for stuffs and grins was the creature creator.

I wish it focused on the creature part instead of space and giant cities. All that does it make it another RTS with planet customizing and a few lacking features. Customizing a creature fit for its environment that has unique abilities would be so much cooler than flying around in a stupid looking space ship.

Creature stage was stuff.
Animals don't dance with other species.

Spore has good editors, but no gameplay.

BUMP
I liked Civilization Stage, owned at it too.
I really dislike Creature Stage though. Since when do animals dance with each other?
Yay, this was my 200th post!

Spore is an okay game, good time waster...
... somewhat repetitive.  In all the stages.
... also, how the hell do you go from small huts made from things found in the wilderness to epic-sized futuristic buildings?

once i got to the space stage, i got bored and, started again    :cookie:

creature stage is best one lol

It was overhyped and turned out terrible due to the release date being pushed too many times which led it to being kiddy.

That is what it was going to be, not this piece of stuff we have now.

What is it like now? I loving loved Spore on the DS and I loving LOVED the Creature Creator.

I'm probably going to buy this game regardless of what I'm told.

That is why I wished the developers focused on that stage and made it better. The whole "hype" about Spore was "OMG YOU CAN CREATE UNIQUE CREATURES!!!!" Having a giant 30 vs 30 creature battle would be really cool, instead of singing and playing with eachother. The demo video makes it look like they wanted to make a more mature style game, but then they removed complex features and we got a crappy game.

The creature stage could have been a game in itself. But no, of course, all you have to do is dance around for 20 minutes and it's onto the next stage!

And the Space stage... why would the ultra-"Omnipotent" dude go around saving one of his thousands of colonies from like one pirate ship? Do it yourself, starfishs!

I also got the Adventures pack, which is basically like a pumped-up Creature Stage, and it was worth it.
There's so many things to do... If you want a fun SPORE, get that.

Yeah, that part pissed me off. You should really be able to create a fleet of hundreds of ships and assign them to guard planets.

Maxis WAS going to make a stage called "City Stage" in between Tribal and Civilization that bridges that gap between the two. Then they cut it and that led to your question.

I felt after playing Spore that they tried too hard to perfect their creature/building/whatever creators, but then they forgot that there was supposed to be a game, too.
