A working lance.

I am not really asking for this to be made, so much as asking if it is possible. I want to make a pike that does damage depending on your current speed.  Can it be done?

On topic: i agree, the lance we have now is so annoying because you spin it and a hit  from tip on a horse does the same damage as walking and hitting someone with the tip

well the problem with that is that it wouldnt be an item, more of an handheld projectile, like a gun that continisly fires bullets, if say 20 people were equiped with them the server would be VERY laggy
