I mean, i have sort of a logical explination; they underestimate you or test your power and use their not EPIC form thinking they're a GOD OMG/want to see your capabilities.

They want to catch you off guard, plus it's a totally bad-ass thing to do.

Think about it: You get to the boss, and he's pretty tough and all but you finally beat him. Then, as he's lying on the ground and you're doing your little victory dance (don't lie to me), he starts laughing, then rises up, gains 20 more health bars and 25 appendages each holding a deadly weapon to kill you with and beats the living stuff out of you.

then bowser without being able to heal
then they give you an 80 hp healing mushroom and then the real final boss
but bowser is a pain in the ass

Then I beat him.

Then the real last boss I cried because it was sooo easy.

It's not a final boss, but I say Yunalesca in Final Fantasy X.

forget she is such a cunt. You kill her first form, only to find out she has a second, much tougher form.

Using up all available resources, you kill the second form. Instead of the second form fading away in defeat, it morphs again into a third form.

I remember at the end of oot how dramatic they made it when ganondorf turned into ganon.
It was kickass.

if you play it without doing the sacred grounds requirements, play it again and do them (Reference a walkthrough, or else you'll probably miss something)

if you don't, you'll really be missing out. Sacred Grounds is an extremely extremely hard zone available to play after you beat the final boss, but only if you've completed several requirements throughout gameplay.

Also, there is one new thing.

Why can't the final bosses kill every single person who defy them, like stepping on an ant?
So like, the hero will be killed at the beginning of the story.
