  They made it 100 years after the original game for a reason, they're getting away from HL2's storyline.

I doubt they would do that, part of the reason behind portals success is the fact it's tied into the half life universe. I'm almost certain there will be more references, and back story in the second one.

While I agree that the puzzle aspect was cool. I have never liked games without some story behind them.

Your backstory is Portal 1. Deal with it

Portal 1 was a tech demo, an experiment. Now that they know it can succeed on it's own they don't want it to tie in with HL2 too much.




The worst thing that could happen is if HAl9000 and GlaDos united, or had a robotic child.
