and Obviously you have terrible eye sight. Even a blind person can see the better Lighting, Physics, Effects, particles, and quality in Portal 2 compared to Portal 1. They have different Lighting Engines. Portal 1 Had pretty much pre-set lighting. Portal 2 has Dynamic lights

no there isnt better lighting at all.
they can modify all sorts of graphics to look nicer, and they should; its been a few years.
but there is no awesome engine upgrade here. the lighting is nothing new and special.
the new stuff was just taken from l4d2, nothing we should stuff ourselves over
