i found an old model file that Valve left in from the Fizzlers elevator video and modified it to be used as a fizzler effect on the regular cubes. any thoughts?

I read your post like "Oh, the old Emancipation Grill model?" I watched your video like "That looked like the same one as ingame..." and then "Wait, why does PC get the cool cube destroying?"

It took me a while to realize you were talking about the fizzling effect of the cube, and not the Emancipation Grilll model. Can you fix your post and video a little?

Wow, why didn't Valve use that? It looks so much better than just using an effect similar to an enemy being killed by an AR2 vaporizing ball ;~;

Anyone wanna play some community maps from thinkingwithportals?
If you wanna play, reply to this post and make sure you downloaded these maps:

P.S.
Discovery (the first one) is a .vpk file; put that in your addons folder.

It looks slightly more performance intensive. Maybe it lags on console? Maybe it';s too different from the original fizzle and they didn't think disintegrating was close enough to be a justified animation? It does look awesome, but in context, might not work.

Lil, since they didn't want to use it that way, where else might you put it? :o

I'm going to use it like the fizzler should be used.
The thing is, this will be run using lots of beta content and styles, i.e. not putting black walls all over the place that tell you what to do, removing elevators and replacing it with changelevel hallways.
All the works.
Coming soon: A preview of some of the many new game modes you will face in the map pack, including but not limited to: TF2 style CTF!

I'm actually entering the Exile Vilify video contest lol. Live action.
I'll take some pictures and upload them to Photobucket tomorrow of the set.

I have a general idea of what I'm wanting to do with it, but anyone have any ideas?
For example, what are you looking for in one of those videos?

Just interested.

They did on the Fizzler video.

It'd be awesome if cubes hit with lasers did that in certain cases you'd make up. :3

i am confused, could you explain pwease?

Although the animation looks so cool, they choose not to use it. I can only think they had a reason, so why not just re-purpose it instead of putting it back in the same spot? A laser hitting a cube doing that...

Is there ONLY that one? Frankenturrets?

Im going to buy this when I get a new comp.
