i made a canon way of making it work as an SP hub

You download it automatically, all you have to do is play with someone in Co-op and you'll see a new area opening up that requires you to portal over to it and stand on the two buttons to be sucked into the tubes above

All you have to do is find a map to download and put the .bsp in the Steam/steamapps/common/portal 2/portal2/maps directory, if there is no maps folder in the portal 2/portal2 directory, create one and put the .bsp in there

That should do it

Oh, and you'd also have to enable the Developer Console and type in map <mapname>
