Everything is Vanilla for me. Partly because I hate unlocks, and partly because I craft everything I get.

Sandman and FaN are terrible and I don't like the tradeoff for bonk or crit-a-cola

I agree about the FaN but the Sandman has its moments. It's good for escaping from Heavies or getting rid of people capping your point. Bonk is great at times too. I don't like Crit-a-Cola either, it's good for sneak attacks, but those aren't very easy without Bonk or luck.

Flare gun is useless underwater or against other pyros.

Although both of those are true, it gives the Pyro some nice range.

+health on hit? Why wouldn't I use it.

It reduces your health regeneration, though not by much.

I never once mentioned the FaN, Regulith.

I'm laughing at the fact that of all unlocks, the FaN is probably hated by the most people (or is at least second to the Huntsman), and you hate more unlocks than anyone I've ever seen.

Bonk! is stupid regardless. You swap your only long range support for some fizzy situational drink.

1. Run near concentration of enemies (while taking care not to get within their line of sight/fire)

2. Use Bonk if necessary (for sentries, Heavies, etc.)

3. Run behind them

4. Sneak attack (Either take out as many enemies as you feel comfortable with before retreating or scout out (no pun intended) the Intelligence or next cap point, possibly even capture them)

It may be situational, but so are all unlocks. I change loadouts constantly to adapt to the current situation. I don't know if everyone here posting their loadouts are just posting the ones they use most often or if they never change from them, but I suggest doing what I do.

These strategies work for me, results may vary

I play battle medic, so I'd rather gain health during combat.
Also, inevitable:

10:22 PM - [WKH] Sue: Dumbass
10:22 PM - [WKH] Sue: Blutsauger is for bad medics
10:22 PM - ACTION EXPLODIUM: D:
10:23 PM - [WKH] Sue: You drop health regen by 3
10:23 PM - [WKH] Sue: Fire does 4
10:23 PM - [WKH] Sue: A normal medic could survive
10:23 PM - ACTION EXPLODIUM: health regen doesnt help when I'm in actual combat
10:23 PM - [WKH] Sue: YOU'RE A MEDIC
10:23 PM - [WKH] Sue: YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE IN COMBAT
10:23 PM - ACTION EXPLODIUM: I play battle medic
10:23 PM - [WKH] Sue: FASF
10:23 PM - ACTION EXPLODIUM: Blut is for battle medics
10:24 PM - ACTION EXPLODIUM: I heal people but I don't make it my only job

Although both of those are true, it gives the Pyro some nice range.
I'd rather have a hitscan weapon than a projectile one.

Both of those are personal preferences though.

From what I see in this game people are to focused on their K-D and not the team objective. What Valve needs to do is remove the show score option tab so people don't focus on running off by themselves into the fray and instead work as a team to capture/defend all the control point/intel and if that team wins each member is awarded a random item/hat.

Since people are posting what they equip now:

Scout: default, I try to mess around with crit-a-cola sometimes

Soldier: equalizer

Pyro: axtinguisher, sometimes homewrecker if I want to help engineers on my team when it comes to spies

Demo: default

Heavy: default

Medic: ubersaw, sometimes kritzkrieg

Sniper: razorback, shiv

Spy: dead ringer, ambassador

Does anyone even use the regular spy watch now?

Sue hasn't given me any IPs ;.;

The only sever she plays on is a 24/7 2fort party server.

"Boring" and "powerful" are different things. If you have patience, you will do well. Also, I've "accidentally" taken out Spies sapping my Sentry by randomly swinging the wrench, which is very efficient. A fully powered Sentry can take on anything, especially Scouts. Sentry aim plus the Scout's low health means an easy kill. It also takes thinking with the Engineer, like placing your buildings. Also remember that you can still use the shotgun and wrench in close combat while your Sentry deals with other things. Both those weapons are quite good together. And Dispensers help you and your team, alongside Teleporters. Very good for a team needing to travel long distances.

So, IMO, Engineer is the best class for me. Next up is Spy (in case of excess Sentries) and then Pyro (for just fighting and spy checking). Then Demoman for quick defense. I've never used Medic, and rarely Scout. I don't use Heavy or Soldier much either. Sniper is only for huge field maps.

It doesn't take patience to set up a turret and wait...I have played as an engineer before and have gotten 10 kills in a row within 5 minutes of being one, that is boring. Meanwhile I got 12 kills in a row as a scout, now you can actually kind of brag about something like that when half their team were decent soldiers.

i like playing as ness
