Author Topic: Return of the Mr. Wallet's Blockland Scripting Class  (Read 21281 times)

If you're really available at any time please check the first 2 days of the thing so I can match your sleep/wake schedule at the very least.

Someone filled in the name "Khain" and selected no options. Either this was a joke and they mis-spelled "Khan", or they fail at surveys. So whoever did that, now you know.

Loserhero only checked the first box which is like wut, again give me at least the first 2 days. Same to shafin; are you REALLY available at all the times given? You don't sleep at a different time of day than I? Again, give me 2 days.

Cepheus, Mr. Cookie and Pentaplox have provided invalid schedules because they have not provided any 1-hour blocks of availability.

This puts the number of valid applicants so far at exactly 2 (Redliub, NASAboy3000). However, since NASAboy3000 has provided precisely 8 1-hour blocks - 2 of which are very far from the other 6 - he has only 1 possible schedule, and after comparing the availability of others, the odds of that one schedule being the one I actually create are basically zero.

If this class had grades, you would all get Fs (Redliub excepted) and we haven't even started.

Also no less than 3 people on my steam list pointed out the second and/or later sentences as wrong before reaching the punchline; this implies that they did not immediately notice anything wrong with the first sentence. I am disappoint.

Observers are welcome as long as they don't rock the boat. I've been in situations where non-teacher-type experts are around when I'm trying to teach something and it absolutely devastates class productivity for the expert to interject "actually that's not strictly true..." and try and get me into an argument, or even just interrupt the flow of the class by forcing me to make a rational point on why I have presented things the way I have so that the students don't get afraid and confused. This would be like a first-semester physics class where students are taught newtonian physics and then some smartass won't drop the issue because it's not technically as precise as einsteinian physics. You know what? Nobody cares. I'm teaching the class, I'm not here to make you feel smart, and I don't want class time consumed with pointless debate.
But yeah otherwise feel free to drop in and help out.  :cookieMonster:

Since posting (that's right, AFTER the above post was made), Daenth and Cheeseburger have also done it wrong.

Let me retry, but it's confusing. >:C
EDIT: Err... crap. >:C
Hey my blocks mean "Time-time" not the half-hour blocks. I screwed up.

Loopyla1 you gave me one hour on monday; I don't think that's gonna be enough time to teach you how to script.

Oh.

1 hour for how many days, 8?

As long as no one is deleting curly brackets again, I'm in.  Do we have to do the survey if we aren't really seriously doing it?  I'm just going to watch for entertainment/refreshers.

You fill in all the time you're available, then I set up a schedule for the max number of possible students.

If you're just going for lulz it would help me avoid confusion if you didn't do the survey, kthx, but you can if you really want and I'll try to make note that your entry is less important than the others.

:c
I just typed in my name and pressed Enter without choosing anything.

I really don't understand the survey, but I am good from 8-10 eastern time, any day starting next friday.

 - Select your timezone or location
 - Check 8:00, 8:30, 9:00, and 9:30 on friday, saturday, sunday, and hell monday for good measure.
 - I'll see the pattern and work out the rest myself. What I will not work out myself is a seperate note of when you're available, corrected for time zone, and magically knowing if you mean AM or PM. Fill out the damn form.

I just put in my usual sleep/wake hours for Monday the 21.
I am available almost any day, summer officially starts on Monday for me.

I've been eager to learn/figure out these scripting shenanigans for a while now.
I've submitted a form, 3pm-10pm and though it says the 23rd-30th I am available any day I just need advance warning.
