Author Topic: Possible help fixing DS Lite? $100? F That  (Read 1269 times)

Ok. My DS doesn't turn on anymore. When I plug it into the charger, it shows the orange light, but when I try turning it on, nothing happens. I called Nintendo for help, and they said I could mail it in and get it fixed for $100 since I don't have a warranty. I was just wondering if anyone here could help me fix this problem

Ok? Just let me come over to your house...

Ever tried google?

After searching online for a while I found the solution. I had to hold the power button on for about 5 seconds.

Don't know why, don't know what it did, but it's working now.

Yeah I tried Google. That thing you put doesn't work either. But seriously, why does it costs $100 just to fix my DS? I mean sure they will give you a new warranty and a clean shell and stuff, but that's not what I wanted to pay for. It's like trying to buy a soda but they charge $500 because it comes with a cup cleaner.

TotallyOffTopic: I think we should have the little face emotes. It would stop the,
"OGM THS IZ SO GUD! HERES A COOKEY! O NO HERES COOKY MONSTER HE ATE IT!"

OnTopic: Unfortunately, I'm no Geek Squad member, so I can't really help... Sorry.

Don't turn off during flashing.

It wasn't even on when the problem started. I was playing some FF Tactics, put it down, and later it wouldn't turn on.

You can get a DS Lite off Ebay for under 100 dollars lol

you need a new battery. get one from an old ds, gameboy advance SP, or buy a new one for cheap

Sounds like a good idea. Maybe I could find one of my little brothers DS Batteries.

just buy the 3ds when it comes out

Lol. I'm not buying a new game system because it's in 3d. I can go to a 3d movie for $8. Probably more action in it than in 3D Mario Kart, which would probably cost me $30, and the system itself would be at least $150.

Would a gameboy battery work tho?

My sister's DSi wouldn't turn off when she dropped it, so we let it die, then charged it and tried turning it on and it worked. Personally, I would just buy a new DS it would be slightly cheaper because you'd have to pay shipping.

How would buying another DS be cheaper then fixing mine?

You'd have to pay for the Shipping.
