Game running to fast: Help!

I downloaded the game, put in the key, and started a LAN server. My guy was jerking all the way across the bedroom when i was playing, and the chat gos away too fast! How can i slow down game speed?

If you are jetting, you can go up to high horizontal speed.
The chat at default goes away about 5 seconds after it's posted, which is usually just enough time for you to read it.

First of all, /timescale 2 doubles the time. 1 would be normal, and decimals would be slower.

Secondly, he surely knows that you press T to chat, it's in the tutorial.
