First one could be made easily with a blockhead's head and, yes, 6 insect-like feet.

The second one could be octagonal for the ball form, but when it opens up hopefully 2 squarish strands of that red goo stuff. Picture texture eyes.

Also would like to add on to this a bit so the references make a bit more sense, the monsters are not all the same size both of the first of my posts are about half the size of a blockhead, the megatank(The ball) is about the size of a 16x16 cube. The crab like monster is pretty big, I would guess about twice the size to three times the size of a blockhead.

The hornets should also be about half of the size of a blockhead also.
