I'm looking to run Vindictus, Alpha Protocol, and Mass effect. I can run them but obviously I get graphic lag.

This is the card I am thinking of buying;

A EVGA GeForce 9500 GT Video Card - 1GB DDR2, PCI Express 2.0, SLI Support, DVI, HDTV, VGA

Last time I bought a graphic card it wouldn't work, it would screw up as soon as I tried to install the drivers, or something like that. If I did buy this graphics card, would it work?

Buying new graphics card.
Is it a cool Game?

it has to do with gaming though

ontopic if you don't need 1080p for any reason 9800gtx's are awesome

Yarp specially if the old one has 128 ram

is the 9500 better then 9400 but 9800 better then both?

Sorry, I really didn't know where to put this.

Honestly, I'm not even sure what that part is, the 1080p.

it's HD video

edit: as long as no one minds so I don't have to make another topic what do you guys think about me getting this one?

I just bought a nVidia 8400, it's not the post powerful, but it is such an upgrade to my old one.

Nice card though.

I don't understand what PCI is, will I have to know before I buy this?

Edit: as in, if my computer is PCI will this PCI express card work right?

Pretty much, yeah.

PCI and PCI-E are plugs on motherboards for graphics cards and such. If your motherboard doesn't have PCI or PCI-E, but only AGP, you're going to have to get an older card.

This computer had to have been made after 2005, so I'm pretty sure I don't have AGP, but is PCI the same installation as PCI express?

A PCI-E card will work in a PCI slot, but won't perform as good as if it were in a PCI-E slot.

It would be best just to open your computer up and look at the slots. Possibly take a picture and post it here.

I don't have a camera but it looks like this:

Okay, it looks like you have one PCI-E and one PCI. But one of them looks backwards. My PC has one that's backwards, too.

Does your PC happen to be made by HP?
