Author Topic: Max Visibility of 1000?  (Read 4543 times)

When in Mission Editor I want to be able to see the whole map Im working with, but it seems in V15 that Badspot put a cap on the max visibility limit. Is there any way around this?

So it defaults to 1000? Probably for the good, I think the map loops after 1024 and it tends to crash Blockland. It also stops unrealistic map view distances. Unless it the setting in your options which is doing it.

I think I found it
Code: [Select]
$pref::visibleDistanceMax = "1005";Gonna try and change it now.
EDIT: Seems its a variable that can't be changed =\

May I ask why you're trying to melt your graphics card?

Wow you lag when its over 1000 visible distance?
I've put the bedroom at around 7000 and only crashed when I looked at some random part I forgot what

need another graphics card i guess.

ive had max visibility set to over 15k before so i could see the whole map.

Just dont forget to set it back to a more normal value when your done.

don't mess with this.

don't.

I wish there was a way around this also. I have maps that are double the size of slopes, meaning you have to travel twice as far before the terrain repeats. But with the low capped visibility its really hard to navigate. And no, nothing inside of my computer melted, exploded, imploded, or turned into confetti.

In the below pictures, the red squares are 64 cubes. There is no way for me to get these kind of pictures anymore.

My best was around 5000, but I did crash after a few minutes.

I crashed on 1,000 due to insane terrain looping.

It was on a small map, plus fog was at 0.

is it possible to make the map not loop for a longer distace?

no, unless you want to edit the map....

i need it to not loop for quite a while

I once put my visibility up to 999999999. I crashed. Bad.
