Author Topic: Task Manager won't close.  (Read 1850 times)

I opened task manager earlier to close a program that had froze. Then I tried to close it. For some apparent reason, the window has no red X on it. I try to right-click the block in the task bar, no menu comes up. And there's no CPU meter in the clock area. I usually right-click that to close. I still can't close it and it's been like this for an hour. Help, anybody?

try going into the processes tab and locating taskmgr.exe and terminating it.

Open the task manager, Select process and e- oh wait.

try going into the applications tab and locating taskmgr.exe and terminating it.
Or go into the processes tab and end taskmgr.exe.

That's what I meant, processes

Shut down computer and turn back on, or restart?

Open another task manager. :cookieMonster:

I know it's a stupid question, but how would I get there? I'm not experienced with this stuff.

There are 5 tabs: Application, Processes, Performance, Networking, and Users. Click "Processes", and scroll down in the box until you find "taskmgr.exe". Click it, and then hit the "terminate" button.

I do believe that you have a paradox right there son.

But where is that?

But where is that?
The tabs are on the task manager itself...
