There's a decent-sized area you can freeroam for a little over 30 minutes.

There is also a glitch where you can go past the timer, but if you die, then it's over. But it is a very good demo with about 10 settlements, 1 faction base, 1 mission, and about 40% of the equipment in the full game available.
