Well, some of you guys know that I'm in India. I got this sweet deal of Ep1 for $5, or Rs. 250. Though, when I opened it at our apartment, it had 5 loving discs. Is that right?
The front of the box looks like this:

(Lambda) Half Life 2 not required The first new episode for Half Life 2

And it shows VAVLe logo. No steam though, huh.

Half life 2: episode 1 expands the legendary Half Life gaming tradition with:

>>Two Multiplayer games: HL2: DM and Half Life 1 Deathmatch: source are also included for online action gameplay
>>Half Life 2 not required: No other software needed

And thats it. huh. Will it install on steam? Shouldn't it because it has HL2: DM? Is this good or bad?
Help pls :C

I'm pretty sure they're installation discs.

You said there were five discs. Are they all the same? If not please make a list.

Example: Disc 1 - *contentshere* Disc 2 - *contentshere*, and so on.

BTW, if you want to talk to me on Steam about this, add "efhunter".

Pictures would help infinitely.

osht thats right, your in India :o Which means you buy stuff with rupees :D I suggest the hyrulian shield.

im sure that it is supossed to come with a steam key

No no no, get the reflective shield.

If they're CD-ROMs not DVD-ROMs, that would make sense. Back when I bought a copy of HL2 at a target  four years ago there were about 3 or 4 discs, but it had a steam key so I just downloaded it.

I never heard of a game that uses 5 disks just to install.

Why not try playing the last disk and trash the other four?

Then you've never bought a game on a CD-ROM. I have a lot of games that need four discs to install, like Battlefield 2

You're a dumbass.

You need to install the game before you play it, and to install it you need to use all those disks.

check for steam code

enter steam code into steam

???

profit!

Fine, I'll add this just so you guise don't take me seriously.
