The power of admin.

I've been to a lot of people's servers, and I've seen a lot of different ways that people choose to give out admin to their players. Some people give it out for nothing. Some people require you beat some kind of challenge. Some people require you become their best friend. And some people won't give it out at all.

What about you? What does it take for you to give someone admin? And what about taking that admin power away from them?

I tend to throw admin around quite a bit. I basically just ask the person why it is that they want the power of admin, and make a decision from there based on what I've seen of their behavior so far. The best thing is, the people who want it for no reason tend to leave right away because they know they have no reason, and won't get it. :) I've only ever had to take admin away from someone once. They ran around telling people to give him their trust and join is mini, because "HE WILL BAN". -_-

I think it's just important for the host to think about the abilities they're giving a person by giving them admin. If the host is surprised to find out that they've just allowed a noob to run around and destroy everyone's builds, he needs to lurk more. That or lose his internet privileges. >_>

I do give admin to quite a few people... But they know that if they do anything wrong they will be perma banned. There are very few SAs on my server... Generally restricted to real life friends and a few BEE members.
I make sure only SAs can edit RTB prefs and Ban... The only "extra"s I give to normal Admins are - Kick, Duplicator limit Bypass, Dwand and Teleport.

I get to know them, and if they're trustworthy, then they'll get admin. I also consider if they're responsible admins, such as on other servers.

I give it to my close friends on Blockland.

I give out admin to others rarely, actually.

I can't host, and if it is it's with UPnP and it crashes in a few minutes. If I could host, I'd give it to clan members and good friends.

My close friends always get Admin or SuperAdmin. I've got about 3-4 SA's and 3-3 A's.
Although, it's worth mentioning that 3 of my SA's I know from IRL and am close friends with.
My Auto-Admins usually are very close friends on the game, or people who I can really trust and have been on my server for fair amounts of time, usually are regulars and I know that I can trust them.

Otherwise, I tend to give Admin occasionally if I'm bored and no-one is on my server and one person joins and I have nothing done. Mainly cause I like to see what people do, also, some people will load up builds of theirs which I can use on my server with them and have some fun.
These sort of people generally turn into closer friends, oddly enough.
