They replace barbarians with pirates and goddamnit these pirates are like somalians on drugs. Half of my turns are spent building ships to hunt down systems that other people have colonized and had the pirates come in and take it over. I feel like the US chasing down terrorists in Afghanistan.

And the kicker? Even when i took out all their systems MORE CAME OUT OF loving NOWHERE AAAAAAAAAA

they aren't pirates...there infected humans that turn into zombie pirates with brain dawgs.

nuke them with space nukes.

I did goddamnit.

UPDATE: Okay so I finally took their last system again. So in a sec I'm going to take this crusade fleet and go throughout the entire map and just hunt down every last pirate.

I useually cheat with worldbuilder a a point like this.

So it turned out my neighbors who were allegedly "friendly" towards me were funding the pirates.

I guess I need to buy Beyond the Sword, what does it add?

Um, it adds a lot, theres a pre-WW2 mod, the space mod, an X-Com style mod, and this mod that adds another tier of units after the future age, like mechas and stuff.

Don't forget "Ryes and Fall of Civilization" I comes with BTS and it's a historically accurate earth 30+ civ maps. Other features are; Historical victories, conquests, and the fact that entire civilizations can break into civil wars then eventually break apart themselves.
