Engineer update should be nothing but a misc slot that takes off his goggles.
And you have to read through a 200 page life extending machine manual to pass a test to get it.

The blueprints were obviously for a dispenser. It IS a life extending machine after all.

The dispenser dispenses life meaning it gives out life meaning it add life, not extends it.

I'm thinking that it's a new piece of equipment for Engineer so when he dies, it brings him back to life after a short while.  Note the dying thing in the comic.

I thought they did.  Hmm.  Well then it would still help by bringing you back to a build to defend it.

By the time you come back to life your buildable base will probably have been destroyed by the person(s) who killed you.

I don't think people usually can kill a buildable within a second.  I'm thinking it's a second chance, and a bit useful against spies.

I assumed "short while" was longer than a second, but okay. Such an object would still basically turn you into a Heavy and you'd be able to defend your buildables way too easily.
