The point of only 100 gold wrenches is for elite bragging rights you idiots, it wouldn't be cool if EVERYONE had one. It's has no advantages over the regular wrench besides cosemetics.

It would still be elite bragging rights if there were 1,000 of them.

It would still be cool if it was just an ultra ultra rare item that anyone could get any time by crafting triggering a random drop instead of a limited amount.
