Author Topic: Windows 7 driver issues (BARELY SOLVED)  (Read 2555 times)

really? i've just noticed its a total whore when it comes to CPU usage, or RAM, or whatever, but thats because I don't have enough memory allocated/enough ram to be modern-friendly.
I have 1gb of ram, I'm completely fine, it's not too bad. (But will be much better when I finally upgrade)
on the internet we have the ability to express our opinions. i've used windows 7 and vista is a total piece of stuff.
Have you used them on half decent hardware?
anything new will have errors, and vista is just really stuffty. i don't know exactly why, but I know there IS something about it, and if I wasn't fighting to stay awake I could point it out.
Don't use stuff hardware, then.  And windows 7 works completely fine.

It seems like, on windows 7, it's 4 seconds faster than XP was.

That's because it probably is.

modern computer with better hardware than mine, running windows 7 and absolutely no other unnecessary processes, vs outdated computer running XP, slightly worse hardware, and the windows 7 computer is getting half the FPS the XP is getting in just about any game i've tried it with.

That's because it probably is.

it probably loving isn't. windows 7 has a more complicated code = more cpu usage or whatever in christ's name, which means overall slower processes.

slightly worse hardware

HAHAHAHAHHAHA no

quit arguing for the sake of arguing before I start to act like my opinion is fact.

now please exit every thread we're arguing in and remove whatever is up your ass.

Yeah you've already started doing that.

Try the SAME games!

My computer boots faster than it did on 2gb of ram on xp, when I have 1gb of ram.

did that, silly marcem

also k then

Yeah you've already started doing that.

then sorry for making it seem like I'm doing the whole 'I'M RIGHT YOURE WRONG YOU SPINELESS BITCH AIOSHDFUOAHSFUIAHF' I stated a personal opinion and defended it.

What you've stated is not an opinion.

It's different to not LIKE an operating system; but you are saying that they perform worse than they do.

because thats what I've learned from it. if you disagree with my methods and opinions, do what I do when I come across that issue, call the person a dumbass and carry on.

To Chriz,

Hi. You, of course, came to the handicapped assumption that your experience with windows 7 (or lack thereof) reflects how it well it works. Then stated it as a fact and threw out a half ass statement about code or some stuff. Now that Binu has called you out on it you are trying to make up stuff.

Love,
RO

I am also going to agree that you know nothing about nothing when it comes to this stuff.

Hi.

you're so cool because you made that seem like a real letter! i should instantly respect you

I offered an opinion and backup, if you all are too loving stupid to realize that you really need to just get some sleep and reflect on life.

Your backup was your experience. Which seems limited as stuff.

You can't throw out a half ass statement like it uses more resources and expect that to be the problem. I assume that you have never used it and are making assumptions now that make no sense.

You are now probably monitoring this thread to try and defend yourself from me.

Yoo hoo!

Everyone shut the forget up about it. They are both operating systems and who gives a flying rat's ass which one is better.
This is my average RAM usage for Windows 7 (Playing games as well):

(Green is freed space and red is used space. Notice that 59% is free on average.)

When I had Vista installed, I was never able to get that little green bar above 30%. I'm quite pleased with 7 because my games run a bit quicker on it but at the same time I'm pissed because of Microsoft including stupid ass stuff such as the "Snap" feature and the new minimization bullstuff that I hate.

ANYWAY.

Back to the old machine now.

It's from 2005, and it came with XP Media Center edition 2005. Even that didn't run well on it, I could never get audio drivers for it.

Windows 7 says right now that the correct driver for display has already been installed. I have 32 bit colours, but still only able to go to 640x480 resolution. Sound is available and working for the first time (besides Ubuntu) on that machine.
