edit: I notice no difference in TF2, other than turning anti-aliasing on will make my screen turn black.

It doesn't harm your computer in any way, and it creates very significant difference in gameplay speed/start up time.

It took my computer 2-3 minutes to start up TF2
Now it takes less than 30 seconds


same goes for servers

and players seem to jump around less

When in the middle of an explosion it lags less than usual
