Whats the best way to take down super mutants?

I'm addicted playing fallout three and I need to know how to get to the Galexy Radio Station. The map marker has let me to some sort of subway an I supposed to go the rest of the way underground. What should I expect? I am under supplied.

I was confused too. You have to go through the subway to get to GNR. The most you'll have to fight in the subway is ghouls and maybe a raider or two. Once you get through it all, look for the Brotherhood of Steel people. And pick up their stuff. If you have a follower they usually can equip their power armor.

Raiders, ghouls, super mutants all in large quantities and somewhat in that order.

The subways aren't that bad.
If I remember correctly, it's mostly Feral Ghouls, and only a few Raiders and Super Mutants in those subways.
Then again, I think it depends on your level.

I just got ambushed by a few ferals so I think I'm going to level up some more and stock up on supplies before I go there again.

Feral ghouls are pussies, just use your 10mm and aim for their head. 1-3 shots should dispatch them easily, do Jet if you're a VATS whore.
