Author Topic: How to clean a badly scratched/damaged GC Disk?  (Read 3250 times)

I was about to say this
the plastic protects the info on the disc from being forgeted up by a little smudge?

Yeah.

Yay for hypothesis's

"Hypothesis's" would be possessive. It should be "hypotheses".

Yay for grammar national socialist's.

Yes I did that on purpose.

Buff the surface with toothpaste.
1. Get Non crystallized toothpaste
2. smear it on
3. wait 5 mins
4. wash and dry
5.????
6. profit

Put it in the microwave.

The scratches are hardly noticable after its done.

The label is hardly noticeable as well.

You're not supposed to put it on and wait. As I said,
What you're actually doing is using the toothpaste to buff away a thin layer of the disc's surface to smooth out scratches. Think of it as sandpaper in paste form.

What you listed would
only clean off dirt, not scratches.

Nununununu They both work the same my way is lazier though :D

No, they don't.

You wouldn't place sandpaper on a piece of wood and leave it for a few minutes, would you?
