I just tried searching "Alpha" and couldn't find much... Would you mind enlightening me? I thought Alpha was just the early versions of Blockland.

I just tried searching "Alpha" and couldn't find much... Would you mind enlightening me? I thought Alpha was just the early versions of Blockland.

It was the first iteration of Blockland before the retail release in early 2007. Often referred to as alpha, v0002, and vanilla. Mods like TBM, the original RTB, and Blockland Mods were made for this version. It's inferior in every way to the retail version, but there was a strong encampment of people who refused to switch over despite knowing Badspot had retail plans for the game since its original inception.

Alpha refers to blockland's stage in development during version 2.

Anyways, I'm curious about how this whole BC thing works out. I see three possible outcomes:

1. Kalphiter drops the project
2. He completes the project and it turns out to be decent and gets along with RTB
3. It tears the community in half

Of course it would be so much easier if BC and RTB shared chat systems to allow inter-system communication. Too bad that'll never happen.
