Author Topic: RuneScape - I'm not skilled enough to brush some dirt off this herb  (Read 813914 times)

i've been playing for a long time and i can assure you, the stuff they're doing now in respects to quests and over all content is just plain pathetic compared to what they did before 2009. have you played underground pass? legends quest? that stuff was fun, it was an honest attempt to make the game fun. while they didn't have the graphical capability and probably couldn't even do some of the scripting that they do now, those quests were fun to do, you actually felt accomplished after completing them. after completing one of the newer quests i feel like i've finished doing a chore, just an arbitrary task so i can get the super duper staff of antioch or some bullstuff talisman i need to enter the grove of dragon armor. every update i see now is just mediocre bullstuff. graphical updates, stuffty spin wheel gambling, more aesthetic members reward crap, a new quest here and there. i literally can't play this game without feeling bored anymore. i've done quests, but i'm at the point where i'm stuck either doing little bitch quests that i didn't do because they're useless and over all handicapped, or can't do a quest because it requires bat stuff crazy skills. i mean, forget, i can't finish the void knight series because they decided "hey, you know that mid level series we made? let's top it all off with a loving grand master quest, FOR NO loving REASON!" this coupled with the fact that they introduced a buy tickets option to the spin wheel and their constant pushing for membership, even in members worlds, has lead me to hate runescape as a game, as well as jagex as a company.
Fine, why are you still posting here?

Now to ruin everything you just said:
- Underground pass and Legends quest are NOT fun. I should know.
- The void knight series ends with one of the best quests in the game. Sorry to disappoint you.
- Jagex are a business, they make money. Besides, the spin tickets haven't broken the economy to bits and the game goes on regardless of what the highscores are doing
- Aesthetics? Yay for them!
- The "bat stuff crazy skills" are equal to less than 2 99s worth of experience, and most of the requirements are easy to get
- There is a reason to have grandmaster quests; it's to make the game more challenging. Hey, it works.
- "or some bullstuff talisman i need to enter the grove of dragon armor": If that's in any way an insult against Whilst Guthix Sleeps, you're just dumb

Have you actually DONE any of the grandmaster quests? Seriously, the final quests are the best bit. Quest Cape experience isn't proof enough of that? Then go do them yourself and quit complaining.

Yay!

To me, quests are never fun. I hate travelling back and forth to get items for them while I am doing one.

That's one of the bad things about Runescape's quest system.

It's a good thing there are easy ways to travel. Teleportation, ships...

...
those minecarts....

warp trees...

a lot of the things that make it easier are a bit difficult to obtain access to

The only quest I liked was cold war. The one with the penguin secret agents. Now THAT was fun.

grinding used to be fun guys

I'm becoming aware of all the massive starfishs in PVP. Nearly everyone tries to rape me with dragon claws (fails sometimes), and spams in chat: Rushed@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@!

It's really loving stupid. Other bullstuff includes:

"Sit noob"
"Lol u forgetin suck"
"L O L pwned"
"Owned@@@@!"

Yeah. Congratulations on being a level 120+ and annihilating a measly level 92 who only has stuff-tier equipment while you use a chaotic rapier/longsword/snake/korasi sword/godsword/dragon claws/whatever. starfishs.

Also, want a rage inducing mini-game that makes you want to kick a puppy? Try Stealing Creation. Loads of richardery in that.

Now to ruin everything you just said:
- Underground pass and Legends quest are NOT fun. I should know. they were fun, i enjoyed those quests more than any other quest. i admit, some points were frustrating, but you feel like you've achieved something when you're done. that along with memorable characters is what quests are supposed to be all about.
- The void knight series ends with one of the best quests in the game. Sorry to disappoint you.it doesn't matter if it's a "great ending," the quest levels are not proportioned, it's like if recipe for disaster was a direct sequel to cooks assistant.
- Jagex are a business, they make money. Besides, the spin tickets haven't broken the economy to bits and the game goes on regardless of what the highscores are doing the option to buy spin tickets is RWT, it doesn't matter if it forgets up the economy. it's the spirit of the action, not the effect.
- Aesthetics? Yay for them! aesthetics are good if they don't detract from the content
- The "bat stuff crazy skills" are equal to less than 2 99s worth of experience, and most of the requirements are easy to get grind for 50 hours is easy, but not fun. games are supposed to be fun.
- There is a reason to have grandmaster quests; it's to make the game more challenging. Hey, it works.
- "or some bullstuff talisman i need to enter the grove of dragon armor": If that's in any way an insult against Whilst Guthix Sleeps, you're just dumb because it involves dragon armor it must be about while guthix sleeps. i was referring to the fact that most of the newer quests have some kind of macguffin you need to get, this was true for the older quests but they were usually a reward from a puzzle, not just "go get this and come back, k?"

Have you actually DONE any of the grandmaster quests? Seriously, the final quests are the best bit. Quest Cape experience isn't proof enough of that? Then go do them yourself and quit complaining. i'm sorry if i don't spend countless hours grinding my magic or construction levels, what with being a mele based player who doesn't enjoy wasting his time on a money sink. you understand grandmaster quests are just master quests with an amped up level threshold, right? the content is no different to a master quest other than harder bosses and enemies. the puzzle and story would be unaffected if it took level 80 instead of level 99 to do something.

Return to beginning: Why are you still posting here? because i've played this game for eight years, just because i haven't been grinding my character to level 99 in every skill does not make me less of a player than someone who has nolifed their account for a few months. i've had fun with this game, and i don't anymore because current content deviating from what made the game fun a few years back.

I tried going back into this game. It's still full of 138s that call everyone with a lower level then them "kid". God damn it.

i dare you to go give anyone over level 100 a large sum of money. apparently they see this as insulting and resort to cursing and calling you "nub."

Its because the players have spent so much time on getting the position they have. Even i have started becoming a huge starfish
to other players that are just starting to play.

okay please someone tell me what the forget is up with the thread title
