Author Topic: Wild Fruit  (Read 695 times)

In this thread we discus any and all awesome wild fruit or other naturally growing snacks that come about this time of year. (Inspired by that thread about prickly pear fruit.)

Around here we get assloads of these bastards:

Mulberries, like anorexic raspberries, they're almost always sour, but occasionally you'll find a patch that is sweet.

These are awesome:

You all know blackberries, out on my neighbors family farm for some reason they grow as big as ping pong balls, they're still sweet too. Probably radioactive or something.

So now post your local growing awesome things, the weirder the better.

We have strawberriers

this just reminded me to search "blue raspberry" on wikipedia

I like wild strawberries. They grow outside my school.
*dribble dribble dribble*

Are the wild strawberries sweeter than store bought? They also look smaller though.

Epic little cactus fruits these are.

They're sweet and sour at the same time, and they make great nibble food and ice cream toppings.

For those who dont know, prickly pears come from the prickly pear cactus, and luckily for me, they're ALL OVER junction, and they're just starting to grow.

For those who have tasted this epic little treat, you will agree, that even if they arent cleaned well, and you still get a couple thorns in your mouth, its worth it.

WARNING: Even though the prickles are small, they hurt like a bitch, and are half impossible to pull out. Be warned :3

Mullberries grow in my back yard.

Those also grow in my back yard. And yes.
