Author Topic: Space Project  (Read 2437 times)

I really like your artwork, by the way, I'm not trying to be rude.
I know, I asked for your help in making them better.
I want to try my hand at this, but I don't want to post my work in your topic. :C
It's fine, you can post yours in here.
these need a lot of work, try checking out some tutorials.
Emphasis on "project".

Posted in another thread already but here it is. It's just a bit of practice, there's alot that needs work.

That's awesome. However the shadow seems unrealistic for a space type picture.

You gotta teach me how to do those clouds though.

Light from the sun does cast cone-shaped shadows behind planets, that's how eclipses occur.

As for the galaxy across the background, I just used the cloud render tool in Paint.NET and erased what I didn't want. Then I blurred it, made it more transparent, etc.

Yeah, but that's not how shadows work Aurion, you only see them if the light actually hits something. That's why you don't see a visible darkening of the air in your shadow, I think.

As a result of screwing around, I have created Isngeinnye, the party planet!

Looks like a planet on meth o.o

-snip-

Just made this.
May I ask what program you used to make this?

I meant the clouds on the planet.

O_o

Just made this.
Looks cartoon-ish in a way.

Yeah, it's because of the way I shaded the planet sharply, I think. I like the style but I'm doing another one to see if I can get it less cartoony.

An ancient planet treads its way around its dead white dwarf partner.

Also, now that I look at it, the 2 protruding solar flares coming off the sun should not end so abruptly.

I dont think the flare should just end like that, but fade off instead :o

the sun's flare shouldn't end abruptly and the circular thing around it shouldn't either.

lol

Sorry for the lack of one for 7-13-10. I will make 2 for tomorrow.
