Author Topic: How to wipe a computer?  (Read 2844 times)

Well I'm selling my tablet laptop (If some one wants my ebay listing, pm me)
and I need to know how to wipe all of it, with out having the installation disk?

Oh my god, why didn't I see this comming.

Because someone had to do it before everyone else did :3

including the operating sistem?
right click your drives and select format, format the however you like

To erase everything and keep the os you would need the installation disk. Im pretty sure even after that people would be able to get information but they would have to try and get it then

oh, keep the operating sistem?
spend ages deleting evrything

Aww, I just need it to look clean.

Sponge

Fresh install of the os (I.e. Reformat)

Restart your laptop. constantly press F8 when the company's logo that made the laptop appears. You will then be given the option to change back to factory settings
I cant give you a much detailed tutorial as Im not sure what laptop yours is. A box will appear with numerous options. Try all of them
This will erase everything on the laptop and leave behind all the things that came with the laptop with no OS disc. It may take a while, however, to reset

Restart your computer and press F8 to get to the boot window and click 'Start Windows with Command Prompt' When it starts, click administrator or if you just get a C prompt (C:), start there by typing “fdisk” this will bring you up to a menu. You want to delete windows partitions. Just follow the on screen instructions.
Hope that helps.
