The Rogue-Likes thread. This is a list of the roguelike games I can think of that I personally like, and hell, I may not like them at all. The definition of 'Rogue-like' isn't one set in stone answer, there are so many different kinds that roguelike has some form of turn based system, like chess where the player has as long as he or she wishes to plan strategy, take a break or get something else done. Rogue likes also prefer simple text based graphics rather than anything advanced.
My personal favorite roguelike is Dwarf Fortress. We have had lots of topics of this game before, most got 20+ pages but all contain tales of awesome failure. Among other things, this is the game where failing hard is a way of life and the greatest make awesome mega structures ranging from dams to dwarven computers to magma spewing statue deathtraps.
Probably the best known succession game in DF history.

One game I recently tried is Aliens:The Rogue-like. Just as the name implies, this is based around the trilogy Alien. You are a colonial marine that has crashed in a colony you recently lost contact to. you'll be running around shooting up aliens and burning ammo quick. This is quite odd for a roguelike, this game has music and sound. And, if you don't set a name you get the the name "Ellen Ripley".

Doom the Rogue-like. I never played it but it's supposed to be better than Aliens:RL I'll try it tommorow.
Rogue Survivor, I love this game. You survive zombies, gangsters, black ops, bikers, all sorts of stuff. But you need to eat and sleep. You need to try it yourself.

Right now i'm tired as hell, this laptop is stuffty, it's late and I have a horrible headache so I won't add new stuff today.
