-Edit-

what do you guys think?

sounds good

something sorta like this

most likely needs more teeth and stuff

EDIT-

i forgot that i made an axe for this awhile ago
should look alot better with textures
Edit-

im in a modeling mood

-EDIT-

i asked bushido about it and.. well he has alot of ideas
"Small text to save space, copy and paste it if you want to read it all"
Bushido: just spitting this idea out
Bushido: what if all these lumberjacks and coal miners were all secretly GIGANTICLY COMPETANT GENIUSES
Bushido: but don't have the money to fund their labor-themed weapons
Bushido: after selling enough wood/coal/etc you can buy special weapons
Bushido: like the Lit Lumber, which is a powerful (AND ON FIRE) melee weapon
Bushido: or the Lucid Lagann, a drill that PIERCES THE HEAVENS
Bushido: which acts basically like a really loving revved up chainsaw
Bushido: or even as far fetched as the Sawblade Satchel
Bushido: which is exactly what it says on the tin
Bushido: there's sawblades
Bushido: and you throw them
Bushido: at people
Bushido: and they diee
Bushido: like ninja stars
Yndaaa: where the hell do you get your ideas
Bushido: my mind is like a loving generator
Bushido: ok, another one
Bushido: what if there were specific objectives for each map that have to be accomplished by making enough cash (as a rule)
Bushido: and each team had a 'captain', in charge of spending
Bushido: if the captain dies
Bushido: they loose some cash
Bushido: here's an example
Bushido: i call it "the mineshaft"
Bushido: takes place in a cave
Bushido: actually a small mountain
Bushido: hill
Bushido: etc
Bushido: right down the middle is a mineshaft, which has to be supplied by the coal miners to reach down to the bottom
Bushido: it costs money to use the mineshaft
Bushido: so they have to mine (alot)
Bushido: the lumberjacks (situated outside) get a bonus to cash in this gamemode
Bushido: and are constantly trying to siege the inside of the hill
Bushido: trying to stall the miners until time runs out
Bushido: it's like payload only you spawn right next to the cart
Bushido: oh man
Bushido: we can go so loving wild with the weapon design
Bushido: i just came up with something called the 'stalag sniper'
Bushido: which is basically just an anti-tank rifle made out of heavy metals that fires STALAGMITES at people
Bushido: and 'the pulper'
Bushido: which is essentially a rocket launcher kind of thing that explodes in razor-sharp shards
Bushido: made from a hollowed out log (and profuse amounts of gunpowder)
Bushido: basically it's a crappy and funny looking grenade launcher
Bushido: and of course the coal miner hallmark, the dynamite stick
Bushido: which can be placed on walls 'n stuff and detonates after a preset period of time (or someone on the other team wanders by)
Yndaaa: and what about my burning coal gun
Bushido: burning coal gun?
Yndaaa: yea
Bushido: describe it to me
Yndaaa: a gun used by the miners that shoots burning coals
Bushido: WAIT.
Bushido: I'VE GOT IT
Bushido: let's change that to a steam gun
Bushido: basically it's a boiler with a barrel
Bushido: and a little railway horn that goes "woo woo"
Yndaaa: i like that
Bushido: pull the trigger to start making the boiler heat up
Bushido: (using any coal you have on you)
Bushido: and the horn goes 'woo woo' depending on how high it's charged
Bushido: at max charge it just stops wooing all together and starts just being on fire
Bushido: when you let go of the trigger a cap at the end comes off, letting loose a flame from the boiler
Bushido: according to the amount of coal used
Bushido: worst case scenario, you get a jet of fire
Bushido: best case scenario
Bushido: the pyro would be proud.
Bushido: burning coal shrapnel flies everywhere
Yndaaa: sounds pretty interesting
Bushido: flames fly all over the loving place
Bushido: and there's even a blast of hot air
Yndaaa: and sends you flying backwards?
Bushido: exactly
Bushido: so it's basically a rocket shotgun
Bushido: a flaming
Bushido: rocket
Bushido: shotgun
Bushido: of course the lumberjacks will need something to counter it
Bushido: here, i've got one
Bushido: the annie oaklie
Bushido: (you might not get the reference)
Bushido: actually, annie and oaklie
Yndaaa: not really
Bushido: they're dual revolvers that are automatic, right
Bushido: the bullets they shoot out are actually just little splinters
Bushido: each shot is, not only HOMING, but inflicts 'pain'
Bushido: which basically makes the target slow down a bit
Bushido: but don't do alot of damage
Bushido: they look like, well, two revolvers
Bushido: with wood attachments here and there and a bigass battery
Bushido: on both of them
Bushido: anyway since they don't do much damage
Bushido: the lumberjacks also get one more superweapon
Bushido: the Redwood Ravager
Bushido: imagine the state of rhode island
Bushido: now imagine that in axe form
Bushido: essentially
Bushido: an axe roughly the size of rhode island
Bushido: (if the lumberjacks are like, vermont)
Bushido: in other words it's really loving huge
Yndaaa: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://locallender.info/images/states/rhode-island.gif&imgrefurl=http://www.locallender.info/banks/rhode-island-banks/business-banks-search.asp&usg=__YraHmYEc7nHgd2okqGU8NKUo83E=&h=589&w=483&sz=7&hl=en&start=0&tbnid=3Pz5zdVAecKIsM:&tbnh=165&tbnw=135&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dthe%2Bstate%2Bof%2Brhode%2Bisland%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Den%26biw%3D1293%26bih%3D960%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=393&vpy=229&dur=816&hovh=248&hovw=203&tx=148&ty=122&ei=bchHTK3ZHI3SsAPYzdyeCw&page=1&ndsp=35&ved=1t:429,r:9,s:0
Bushido: looks something like that too
Bushido: anyway it's really loving huge and does huge loving damage
Bushido: but to swing it, the lumberjack must stop
Bushido: this is where the teamwork between the two weapons comes into play
Bushido: the annie and oakley slows down the target
Bushido: the redwood hacks them to bits
Bushido: in like, two hits
Yndaaa: you are crazy
Bushido: only one of these superweapons can exist at any given time in-game
Bushido: if someone goes AFK with them
Bushido: or simply decides to be a douchebag with them
Bushido: (friendly fire, wasting ammo, etc)
Bushido: they automatically drop if they haven't done significant damage to enemies recently
Bushido: simple, right

dub post

PlasticArmy drew a basic concept art for the miner

i don't know about you guys but i like it

nice. but i think he needs a beard/bushier beard
Edit.

of course

re did the beard

around 7500 polygons

I've nearly finished my gun 1600 polys so far, gotta add some bits and also delete some unseen faces so that should be the end result of polys.
