These are the commands I used, if anyone wants them:
r_3dsky 0
Mat_grain_enable 0
Mat_disable_bloom 1
r_shadows 0
r_decals 10 (Yeah, that's 10. Not a typo)
r_waterDrawreflection 0
r_waterDrawrefraction 0

If you need all those, then you seriously need a better computer. My computer's not that great, and I can run it fully maxed out :|

There really is no lower resolution that still works for 1440x900.

If you have a monitor that has a 'perfect' resolution of 1280x1024, then you can lower it to 1024x768 or 800x600 and it'll still look decent. If you try and lower 1440x900 to something like 1024x768 then the entire screen will be stretched because its a widescreen.

Which is why I enabled fixed aspect ratio in my Nvidia Control panel.

Odd, that's not there.  THere's just a positioning thing. What model syncmaster do you have?  I have a 2333HD.  I wonder if you need to use a certain connection type.

Set it at lowest settings, (including resolution.)
If it doesn't work, overclock.

Edit: I found the autoexec.cfg (It was in steamapps/common/Alien Swarm/swarm), and put all of these in there, but it didn't seem to work. When I went into the console and started typing any of the commands, the suggestions box came up with the command, folowed by the variable I don't want. Such as, r_3dsky 1 instead of r_3dsky 0.
