Author Topic: Is it possible to make a summoner staff item?  (Read 1563 times)

Like, a staff item that shoots a projectile, when the projectile hits a flat surface it would make a bot appear(different bot summoning staffs would be cool like horse, warrior(bot outfit) demon skeleton etc.) and the bot would disappear after maybe 15-25 seconds. And if a bot is currently summoned you cant summon another til it dies or disappears. Is this possible at all?


Doesn't sound possible, but it would be interesting.

Well, since the portal gun works by setting a specific point that something will go to, i think that making a bot spawn at a specific point isnt impossible

i think that using a special spawn you so could make a summoner staff spawning a bot then having it follow you and attack. controlls :having the staff out will auto spawn the bot to make him attack you click at a guy and the bot will lock on and attack.

Or make it so a random vehicle the staff owner has spawned will jump to the position of the projectile.

Actually, that's a good idea. Edit the portal gun model to look like a staff. Put one portal under a bot spawn and then shoot the other portal wherever you want the bot to spawn. Kind of like the bot is coming out of a dimensional rift.

Not exactly what i was getting at, i was just saying since we know we can use a projectile to pinpoint a location for something to appear, this could be entirely possible

Portal script uses something entirely different and I don't get how you can get multiple bots at once.
Use something like copymod except the ot appears where your projectile has "hit"

I don't think it's possible. Well, I don't think it's possible to make bots that can kill and be killed in a minigame. Take a look at Copymod V3. Gamefandan worked forever trying to get it so you could make copies that could kill one another and couldn't get it to work. I don't see how this would work when that didn't.

Thus I believe making bots that will fight for you is not possible, however a staff that makes walls of fire or bridges of ice would be possible.
