Author Topic: Kongregate bought by GameStop  (Read 5025 times)

So I heard today while looking through Technology News on my Wii News Channel that the awesome gaming website Kongregate was recently purchased by the largest game retailer in the US, GameStop. I looked further into it and there is indeed a news posting on Kongregate about it.

The story on my Wii said that the site sold for an undisclosed amount between $3 - $4 million. Imagine simply creating a website, recruiting some workers and developing it and making a stuffload of cash off of it. Reminds me of the CEO of Facebook, and how he made over $3 billion last year.

I thought this was interesting, discuss.

Ask kongerate for battle toads on the wii

Oh no not gamestop

Yeah, those damn ripper-offers. :P

Haha Kongregate's former owners really made a wise choice by selling it, I doubt they were making nearly that much previously.

I would just consider it a bonus. After all,

all the staff are staying.

I do love Kong though. <3

I like how everyone has some idiotic view that Disney is strictly for a young audience.

Yeah, those damn ripper-offers. :P
If that was sarcasm, lol.

If not, How could they offer a lower price?

GameStop does not get to pass GO or collect $200.
