It's on mac, there are no No-CD patches for the Mac version, but aren't they illegal anyway? Or is that just the piracy of the game?

You may have tried it already, but buy some of the compressed air in a can and spray out the disc drive as good as possible.

I've tried cleaning out the drive, and also cleaning the disc thoroughly. But the drive gives all my discs the same round scratches that happen when you tip an old Xbox 360. :( Even when I don't move it.

They don't even officially sell this game for PC/Mac anymore. But I'll see if mounting an .ISO of the disc will work.
