Author Topic: The Weapons Stereotype Thread  (Read 118655 times)

Movies and video games are meant to be flashy and cool, real life is not.

Redundant thread is redundant.

And yet some people (me included for a few of these) have only seen the video game/movie depictions of these scenarios, and don't realize they're wrong.

Throw the knife.
There's your stealthy weapon.
AUGH THERE'S A KNIFE IN MY BACK, GUARDS, COME KILL THIS cigarette THAT PUT A KNIFE IN MY BACK.

According to MW2 law, it states you could only kill with a shotgun by 6 feet away.
Yeah, also in the OP, people think that because in MW2 you can kill somebody instantly with a knife, it would be a good weapon to use in real life.

Because throwing a knife in MW2 and killing him with the bottom of it is so true.

Guns don't kill people; Physics kills people

Did you even read, you moron.

That, and the bullet.

Technically you never see a marine with a USP .45
Glad someone caught that.
You're wrong about the roostering back thing though, you have to rooster back the slide on a pistol if it's single action. I'm also almost certaint that it's up to the the specific police department when it comes to what guns they want to use. I've seen SWAT teams with P90s in some states and then M4s in another, glocks here, M9s there. There isn't really a standard.
Not if the gun has a slide lock/release switch, which almost all handguns do.
Also you're pretty much right about the police thing. There is no standard, and stations/individuals can use their own selection of firearms, but it's pretty loose-ended. The general United States Police handgun is considered the M9, because even though the officer or the station can choose different firearms, the most common/most widely used handgun is the M9.

Ignore OP
Do no thinking
???
Make stupid post

Throw the knife.

Yep. The body, gun and probably the knife hitting the floor won't make any sound at all.

The shotgun spread is probably the most stressed. 30 yards is the recommended distance for most shotguns made recently. That doesn't sound like five feet, people.

In my state, Glocks are standard issue police handguns.

That, and the bullet.

Physics causes the bullet to fly through the air

Physics causes the bullet to fly through the air
that's gravity st00pid.
/brickybob

In the matter of shotguns, BFBC:2 is more realistic than MW2, since you can shoot them hella far in BFBC:2.

In my state, Glocks are standard issue police handguns.
Much like the 1911's, Glocks are being phased out in favor of the M9 because they're prone to jamming.

Physics causes the bullet to fly through the air
The bullet punctures the person.
Physics, and bullet.
The 2 causes of death.
