Author Topic: Legend of Zelda - Skyward Sword  (Read 1494 times)

That new Zelda game for wii got a name recently, and that name is Skyward Sword. From the pictures currently available, it doesn't look similar to the picture we saw where link's sword was a female ghost thing, but it is infact that game.

Graphics: The graphics look amazing in this game. It has the cartoony cell shading effect that Wind Waker had with the shading and realism that Twilight Princess had.

Gameplay: They really worked motion controls into this one, and I'm a tad disappointed. The game uses wii Motion + to control the sword, so it SHOULD be accurate, but the nunchuck which has limited motion control abilities is used to bring the shield up and shield bash. Hopefully it will work out.

Items: A lot of the new items look pretty unique. There is a whip and a flying beetle that will be of major use in the game, as well as the classic slingshot and bow, and several other items, 11 in total now, but more may come in development.

Release date was said to be in 2011 if I remember correctly.

Discuse.

Better have a 1:1 WiiMote to Sword ratio or I'm not gonna buy it.

Don't buy it. It'll have something more along the lines to 1:1.02

If its as good as sword controls in red steel 2, i want.

I WOULD be excited if I wasn't so sick of the wii's stupid motion thing. Can I play it with a gamecube controller?

I liked twilight princess's controls, and looks.

something about this game seems a little wierd. It looks like a fairy tale out of a childrens book.

It seems like Wind Waker but adult Link and it kinda reminds me of the old Link. I have heard about this as rumor but when I searched youtube I lost all interest because anything that looked interesting was me being trollololol'd or Rickrolled'd but now that I check IGN or whatever it was called a found a video here's the link of it oh yeah And now that I see this Topic and this video I have my hopes up. http://wii.nintendolife.com/news/2010/06/e3_2010_the_legend_of_zelda_skyward_sword

Hopefully you can, but to be honest, by the looks of the trailer, it looks like the put motion controls into it a lot, like the door's eye following your sword tip, and you rolling around the boulder. People at NP said the motion controls felt relatively smooth though.

Oh hey this looks pretty damn good.
One of the only reasons I'd get a Wii is to continue the Zelda saga.

That and those are some lovey beast graphics.

Blah. That doesn't really sound appealing, I just want to play the game, not run around flailing my arms.

I'd love to play a game the accurately measured the flailing of my arms though, Yuki.

Saw Miyamoto play it at E3, was fun to watch even with their technical difficulties. :3
I heard this games story might take place before Ocarina of Time.

I will definitely pick this one up, it looks gorgeous and I am interested in playing with the more advanced motion.
I am curious as to if they will include the Wii MotionPlus with the game, and if they will have a left-handed Link model for lefties. :>

How is that possible to add something before the first game.

He's just loving up the already messed timeline even more.

It does, the Master Sword is made in this game, in OoT it was already there.

Red Steel 2 :D?
